I do not believe that previous answer is correct. This radio does not require an amplifier for any typical use. The included instructions tell you how to connect up to four speakers which are powered to 40 watts each by the radio. Yes, you will be able to simply swap the radios out following the speaker wiring guide that is in the instructions and printed on the top of the radio.

Getting the right amp for your speakers is pretty easy to do. To get the most volume and sound quality the best way is to at least double the amount of watts the speaker is rated for at max. So for that I would recommend the Jensen Power Amplifier # POWER760 which when ran in bridged mode can put out 190 watts per channel. The Furrion Stereo with Bluetooth and NFC # DV3100 can be used with basically any subwoofer and amp that would normally get installed in a vehicle. We have the Polk Marine Subwoofer # MSW10 that would work really great with it. You'd need an enclosure for it and an amp to power it. Technically yes you could use the amp wire you have now to power the Curt trailer wiring connector part # C56335 for your 2016 Ford Escape. That said if your amp is being pushed really hard and at the amperage draw limit of your 4 gauge wiring your trailer lights might stop working. Most likely you'd see them fade in and out.
